Welcome to Signal Brief! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Signal Brief news briefing service and the website signalbrief.org (collectively, the "Service").

The Service is operated by Cedarview Consulting Inc., a Texas S Corporation, d/b/a Signal Brief ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to these Terms.

Signal Brief is a daily, AI-curated news briefing designed for clarity and objectivity. We deliver 15 top stories from 60+ sources to your inbox every morning at your chosen time (4:30 AM, 5:30 AM, or 6:30 AM Pacific Time). Our service is 100% reader-funded and contains no advertising.

2. Eligibility and Account Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

• Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the Service

5. Intellectual Property

Our IP: The unique selection, arrangement, formatting, and presentation of the news in our briefings, along with our branding, website design, software, and proprietary algorithms, are the exclusive intellectual property of Cedarview Consulting Inc.

Third-Party Content: We do not claim ownership of the content from original news sources. We provide summaries and analysis and always link back to the original publisher.

DMCA Compliance: We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content infringes your copyright, contact us at support@signalbrief.org with detailed information per the DMCA.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CEDARVIEW CONSULTING INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN SUBSCRIPTION FEES OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cedarview Consulting Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third party's rights; or (d) any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service.

9. Termination

Your Right to Terminate: You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and ceasing to use the Service.

Our Right to Terminate: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Service or other users.

Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, warranty disclaimers, indemnity obligations, and limitations of liability.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancellation: You may cancel anytime from your account dashboard or by emailing support@signalbrief.org.
• 30-Day Full Refund Guarantee: If you cancel within the first 30 days of your initial Monthly or Annual subscription, you are entitled to a full, no-questions-asked refund. We do not offer refunds for renewals or cancellations after the initial 30-day period.
• Processing: Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 7-10 business days.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify all active subscribers via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect and post the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, your sole remedy is to cancel your account.

12. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Good Faith Negotiation: Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@signalbrief.org and attempt to resolve the issue through good faith negotiation for at least 30 days.

Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas. You consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in these courts.

Class Actions: We do not require you to waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits. You retain all rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

Attorneys' Fees: In any legal proceeding arising out of these Terms, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs.

13. General Provisions

Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, strikes, or technical failures.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

Export Controls: You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
